G-Power's BMW M5 Is Just 1 HP Shy Of The Original Bugatti Veyron | Carscoops

With new downpipes and a custom exhaust, G-Power's M5 is an animal. Owners can also add an optional Eventuri carbon fiber intake. The upgrades have been made without messing with the M5's design. Regardless of how you feel about the current M5, BMW has to be applauded for not falling into the trap of downsizing and moving away from a V8. As standard, the car delivers 717 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 nm) of torque, and now G-Power has gotten its hands on the car, and it’s bumped up the power significantly. Dubbed the G5M Bi-Turbo, G-Power’s latest creation has been upgraded with new downpipes, complete with 200-cell sport catalytic converters and a new exhaust system. The engine’s intercoolers have also been upgraded, Eventuri carbon fiber intake has been installed. Read: Tuner Finds BMW M4’s G-Spot With 700 Horsepower The famous tuner has also tweaked the software of the super sedan, meaning it now delivers 986 hp or 1,000 PS, only 1 horsepower shy of the original 987 hp/1,001 Bugatti Veyron. Torque also sits at a monumental 885 lb-ft (1,200 nm) of torque. Interestingly, shoppers don’t have to order all of the aforementioned powertrain upgrades. For example, the V8 can deliver 850 PS (838 hp) with a simple tune, 900 PS (888 hp) with the sport silencer fitted, and 950 PS (937 hp) when the high-flow downpipes are installed. More Power, Stock Look There’s no word on how quick the M5 is now, but since the base model can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds, we see no reason the G5M Bi-Turbo wouldn’t be significantly quicker with the full 986 hp package. You can bet your bottom dollar that G-Power is also working on more significant upgrades, potentially including aftermarket turbochargers that would boost grunt even further. The tweaks can be purchased individually or as a package for a touch over €31,000 ($36,300), although that doesn’t include the optional €2,856 ($3,350) Eventuri carbon fiber intake system and the €892 ($1,045) Eventuri carbon turbo inlet. All upgrades are available for both the sedan Touring models.
